Position Overview:
The successful candidate is responsible for generating new overnight corporate group business. He/she will identify, solicit and qualify strategic accounts in assigned markets to develop definite group bookings contributing towards overall hotel sales goals. New business development, outside sales calls, closing skills and excellent communication skills are a must.
Experience and Expectations:
2-5 years sales experience, preferably in the hospitality industry
Goal-oriented, focused, takes initiative, attention to detail
Strong guest services skills (previous hospitality experience an asset)
Professional, positive team player with creative problem solving abilities
Excellent relationship building, communication and time management skills
Confident in public relations - presentations, site visitations, luncheons, cold-calling, trade shows, receptions, etc.
Positive, professional attitude with both internal and external customers
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Contact Mgmt Software
Ability to travel
Educational Requirements:
Post secondary education from a recognized community college or university and/or professional sales designation
